Tax exemption setup

Goal

Enable statutory tax master data so clerks can maintain exemptions safely.

Who it is for

Tenant admin / tax admin.

Preconditions

• You can manage modules and roles for the tenant.

Steps

1. Enable module statutory_compliance (default-granted on new tenants; confirm under Administration → Modules if Accounting → Tax & Compliance is missing).
2. Grant roles tax.view (list/read) and tax.manage (create/delete exemptions and related tax masters).
3. Seed supporting catalogues as needed: tax categories, customers/suppliers, items, and tax jurisdictions.
4. Optionally define tax determination rules so exemptions only override the intended cases.
5. Agree certificate numbering and who owns validity end dates.

Result

Tax exemptions appears under Accounting → Tax & Compliance and authorized users can create certificates.
