Catalog hub
Goal
Find the right Products screens for product models, SKUs (items), brands, categories, units, and catalog policies.
Who it is for
Catalog clerk or manager with catalog.view (setup needs catalog.admin).
How the catalog is organized
- Catalog — product models (families): shared name, brand, categories, variant axes, and one or more SKUs.
- SKUs — sellable items (product / service / bundle) with their own SKU code, lifecycle, stock policy, barcodes, and GL overrides.
- Categories — hierarchical classification tree assigned primarily on the product model.
- Brands and Units — reference lists used on models and items.
- Catalog setup — SKU numbering, barcode/image rules, UoM, bundles, and discontinue reasons (
catalog.admin).
Catalog is a core module (always on). Prices on the Selling tab and price lists need the pricing module and pricing.view / pricing.manage.
Open the screens
Products navigation section:
- Catalog — product models (+ create wizard)
- SKUs — cross-model item list (New item)
- Categories, Brands, Units
- Catalog setup — Options and Discontinue reasons
On the Catalog and SKUs lists, Save view keeps the current tab, filters, figure, columns and sort under a name. Saved views appear after the built-in tabs, are personal to you in this company, and follow you to other browsers. While a saved view is open you can Rename it or Delete view; after you change its filters or columns, Update view stores the change.
