Chart of accounts troubleshooting
Goal
Resolve common CoA create/edit/delete and posting-map failures.

Clerk, manager, tenant-admin.
Common problems
| Symptom | Likely cause | What to do |

| Cannot edit/delete system account | System lock | Remap via System Accounts; do not delete |
| Delete blocked | Account still in use (journal lines, sub-accounts, bank or control accounts, budgets, item mappings, documents, POS settings, system-role mapping) | Deactivate it, or move the sub-accounts and change the mappings first |
| Move or save rejected | Parent is not a group of the same type, or is the account itself or one of its sub-accounts | Pick a group of the same type |
| Code rejected | Code already used, or contains characters other than letters, digits, - and _ | Choose another code |
| Subtype rejected | Subtype not valid for type | Pick a subtype that matches asset/liability/equity/income/expense |
| Seed fails | Chart already seeded | Continue creating accounts manually |
