Price groups overview
Goal
Map customers to a price list via price groups (customer segments) so segment pricing wins before (or after) the tenant default — per precedence.
Who it is for
Clerk/manager with pricing.view (write: pricing.manage).
What a price group is
A small master: Code, translatable Name, optional Default price list. Hint in the UI: customers in a group are priced from its list before the tenant default list (when precedence puts segment before default).
Assign groups on the customer profile field Price group (Directory → People → Customers). Pricing setup can auto-assign a default group on customer create.
How it fits
- Create price lists with lines.
- Create price groups pointing at those lists.
- Assign customers to groups.
- Quotes resolve list via precedence (explicit → group → default, or alternate policies).
Open the screen
Directory → Products → Price groups (/catalog/price-groups). Create/edit opens as a modal on the list.
